RED

RED: I was told about this bright red canary that has been seen many times by my neighbor and I have been determined to get a shot of it the only thing was is that I spent probably about 3 days siting outside waiting for it to come around and i kept getting other birds but this one just wasn't coming out. So the other day I went out in the back with my family and our supper and all of the sudden i heard it and I turned around and there it was right in the spot I have been waiting for it to show up the only thing was my camera was in side and I was outside so luckily I was able to run in and get my camera before it flew away. I whitened the background from a light blue and darkened the branches so that the red on the bird would stand out. Enjoy!

KEY

KEY: So for this word I had this image in my head of skeleton key and then when I thought of skeleton key I started thinking of The Secret Garden and how the key opened up this whole different world on the other side. So I went and looked for a hole in a stump of tree or whatever I could find that had this feeling of what could be on the other side. That is when I found this tree with this perfect rectangular hole in it the key fit in it perfectly. and I started to shoot. I cropped the image and darkened the  moss and tree and this is what the final image turned out as.

MUSIC

MUSIC: So I wasn't totally sure at first what to do for this word. I kept thinking of musical instruments but I knew that I really wanted to do something with sheet music. The question then was what will I shoot the sheet music against or with was I going to do a macro image of the sheet music and so on and so forth. I was looking at an image the other day that I had in my image research file where the girls hair was pinned up in a tree with clothes pins and I thought I could totally do that with sheet music that would be kind of cool. So guess what I went and borrowed clothes pins from my neighbor and went to the woods with sheet music in hand and started shooting away. I wanted to give the image a HARD look to it so Like always I upped the contrast on it as always. and I think it turned out awesome in fact I think that it is probably in my top three fav images right now.

CHOCOLATE

CHOCOLATE: Finally posting some more images project is turning out to be harder than I was expecting. Anyways this is my image for chocolate. When I think of Chocolate the first thing I thought of was a chocolate covered strawberry. YUM! therefore I wanted to depict that in a way where the chocolate is dripping down the strawberry which I have to say is making my mouth water as I write this and look at the image. This image didn't totally turn out the way I was thinking of it but it is very close and I am still really happy with it. I wanted to make it contrasted with the light and shadows and the coloring. I love the white background with the red strawberry and then the brown chocolate. I think it all works well together.

I Feel Bad

I feel bad that I haven't been posting on a regular basis but I am taking pictures but I'm just not having a lot of success with how things are turning out or I keep thinking that I should be thinking of words a different way and that I am sometimes taking them too literal. So I am working on stuff to post and will hopefully have something to post for you in the next few days. Fingers crossed.

WINE

WINE: I have always had an idea of what I was going to do for this image. Well I didn't do it here for this one. I had every intention to do it but I just couldn't get it to work out totally right. That was O.K. though because I fell in love with this image as soon as I saw it and none of the other ones really measured up to it. my original Idea was to take two wine glasses and have one pouring wine into the other glass and then I would flip the image to a sort of distortion in the way that the one that was the original pouring glass would have been the glass being poured into. I didn't get a photo that I could do that and execute it properly but as I said I fell in love with this image when I saw it. I shot this one with ambient light ( the light in the room ) and I used a sheet of poster board as the background which I have to say was very temperamental as I didn't have anything to hold it back and it kept curling on me but it worked for this shot.

SPIRAL

SPIRAL: Finally is probably the first thing that people who follow this blog are saying. I'm really sorry that it has taken me forever to get back to this and actually post a picture but here it is. So this image here I was actually going to be posted as bumps but I kept finding myself following the rings on it around and around and then I thought I should post this as spiral not as bumps. So therefore from that little thought I now have a spiral image. So as you can probably see this is a shell. My little sister who isn't really little considering she is 16 came home with these two shells that she had gotten from a teacher and immediately came into my room and told me that I had to take a picture of them because they were too cool not to. As you can see I listened to her and took some pictures of the shells. I wasn't going to use them for anything I was just taking them to make her happy and to get her out of my hair so that I could go back to working on more important things that I had to get done. As it ends up looking at the photos made me think that they might be good for this project although no real thought went into the taking of the image It still represented a word that I had on my list and no photo should be left behind and not taken seriously.

I owe You

O.K. I know I have been really bad at this and I owe you like 6 pictures. Sorry about that I should have them soon for you I am working on them I did a couple shoots yesterday for them I just have to edit them first. Happy mothers day to all mothers as well. So I owe you 6 pictures and I will hopefully post at least 3 by tomorrow.

Gone off track

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. I am going to try to post at least one image tonight and catch up with where I should be in the project. So keep checking back and hopefully you will be surprised to see some new images and words finished.

Posting

I had previously put up an image for bumps but I wasn't happy with the final image so I deleted the post I am not going to put something up if i'm not happy with it. I had thought that I had previously posted that I was going to post an image everyday but I found out that I didn't I just know that I have to get them all done by July 30th. I am going to try and post as much as possible but I might not always be able to do a post everyday.

PINNED

PINNED: O.K. so this was a spur of the moment image. I was sitting looking at my list of words not sure what I was going to do but just knowing that I had to do something to post so as I was saying I was looking at the list and I came across the word pinned and I thought of wrestling. While sitting there thinking about how I would do a wrestling photo for pinned I looked down at my desk and saw a pin and I instantly ran out of my room and grabbed an apple and a handful of pins and shoved the pins into the apple. I like to call it my voodoo apple MUHAHA! Any ways I shot this image with my studio light. I wanted the lighting to be really contrasted between dark and light I thought that this would work well with this image since it kind of gave me a creepy feeling sitting on the floor in my room sticking pins into an apple. Like really what did the apple ever do to me to stick pins into it. It's art baby! but anyways I pinned the crap out of this apple and now it probably hates me which is fine because I'm going to eat it now. 3 days down 89 to go.

TIME

TIME: For this word I wasn't really sure at first what I was going to do I could have done a few different things. My dad has an old pocket watch that has been sitting in the kitchen for forever and I have always been wanting to do a photo of it so I thought that this was an opportune time to do it. I didn't want to take a picture of just a watch on a wrist or on a white background. I wanted the image to be different in the way that I wanted to use the pocket watch but I wanted to shoot it in a spot that you wouldn't normally see a pocket watch. I ended up going into the woods behind the house and exploring for an interesting spot with a background that would be really cool with some kind of moss. I finally found the perfect spot where the plants around the watch kind of encase the watch itself and frame the watch. I feel that the watch is a representation of time in that its the way we tell time and keep time. So this is my time image. Two down 118 to go.

REFLECTION

REFLECTION: I chose to do reflection as my first keyword. I think that when most people think of the word reflection the first word that comes to mind is mirror. I took this thought and threw it away. I wanted to come up with something different than what the everyday person would think of. After much thought I finally came up with Reflection in writing as in reflecting on your day or the past the way I and a lot of other people do when they write in a Diary or Journal. Therefore that is what I ended up doing my first image on. I wanted the image to have a lot of contrast to represent the things that people reflect on Such as the bad things that people have to go through in there lives and what people tend to write about in there journals. I put the pen in the image to represent the the action of writing down and reflecting on everything. The words in the image are to show the reflection it's self. So there it is my first image and description. It should only get better as time goes on. I'm just happy that this project is finally in motion and I can get to work on the images.

I know I said

I know I said that I was going to shoot and post broken as my first image BUT thats not happening. I decided that I wanted to work on my idea for that a little more and therefore I have a different one that I am going to post right after this.
